Make the Chocolate Lollipops:
First, make some White chocolate lollipops. You can find my full tutorial HERE on how to make perfect chocolate lollipops.
Make the Fondant Frames:
Next, we will make the decorations for the chocolate lollipops. First make the fondant frames.
Start by brushing the mold with a little powdered sugar to keep the fondant from sticking.
Then take a small amount of fondant and press it into the mold. Remove any excess fondant.
To remove the fondant frame from the mold, gently peel back the silicone and lay it on a flat surface to dry and harden up.
Make 8 fondant frames. These can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container for a couple weeks.
Make the Chocolate Skeleton Heads:
Next, make the chocolate skelton heads. Start by melting a little black candy melts in the candy melting pot. If you do not have one, you can use a microwave using 30 second cycles, stirring well after each until the candy is fully melted and smooth.
Transfer your melted candy into a disposable pastry bag and snip off the tip. This makes filling the mold super easy!
Fill the mold with the black melted candy, being sure not to overfill the mold.
Give the mold a couple taps on the counter to remove any air bubbles and then pop it into the fridge. This mold is small, so it only takes about 5-10 minutes for it to harden up so you can remove it.
Continue to make 8 skeleton heads.
Add Some Gold Color:
Next, add some gold luster dust to the fondant frames and the black skeleton heads.
Mix a small amount of the clear vanilla extract and a little gold luster dust in a small bowl.
Paint the frames with the gold mixture and the skeleton eyes and mouth.
I love how this gold brings out the detail in the frames!
Let the frames and skeleton heads dry.
Assemble the Chocolate Lollipops:
Now it’s time to assemble our chocolate lollipops!
Place some melted white candy melts into a disposable pastry bag with the end snipped off.
Add a little of the melted candy to the back of the frame, then center it onto the chocolate lollipop.
Next, add a little melted candy to the center of the lollipop.
Then center the skelton head onto the lollipop.
Assemble all 8 of the chocolate lollipops, then let them sit for about 20 minutes.
You can store these chocolate lollipops in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
