Mummy Chocolate Covered Oreos
Today I have another chocolate covered Oreo tutorial for you guys which are these Mummy Oreos! They are so cute and not too spooky for the little ones!
These mummy chocolate covered Oreos are a great no-bake dessert for this Halloween! This dessert is part of my Ultimate No-Bake Halloween Dessert Table which features 7 No-Bake desserts!
For this tutorial you will need:
- Plain Cookie Mold
- Wilton Bright White Candy Melts
- Wilton Candy Melting Pot
- Disposable Pastry Bags
- Candy Eyes
Start by melting the bright white candy melts in the candy melting pot. If you do not have one available, you can use a microwave safe bowl and use 30 second cycles, stirring well after each until candy melts are smooth and fully melted.
Filling the Mold:
Transfer your melted candy melts into a disposable pastry bag and snip off the very tip. This makes it super easy to fill the mold.
Fill in the bottom of each cavity and then give it a couple gentle taps on the counter to remove any air bubbles. Next, add in an Oreo and make sure its centered.
Then pop your mold into the fridge for 5 minutes. This is to let the candy melts harden up so the Oreo stays centered and doesn’t move around while we finish filling up the mold.
Next, fill in the sides by placing the tip of the pastry bag between the side of the mold and Oreo.
Then finish filling in the top of the cavities being sure not to overfill them.
Give the mold a couple gentle taps on the counter to remove any air bubbles. Place the mold into the fridge for 1 hour or until set and hard.
Remove from the Mold:
To remove the chocolate covered Oreos from the mold, just turn it upside down on a flat surface and give it a couple taps. The Oreos should come right out.
Decorate the Oreos:
Now its time to make these Oreos into mummies!
Use a little of the melted candy to “glue” the eyes on the Oreos.
Next, place some bright white melted candy into a disposable pastry bag and snip off the tip.
If you want bigger lines on your Oreos, cut off more of the tip of the pastry bag.
Place a piece of wax or parchment paper down then sit your Oreos onto. This makes clean up easy!
Start making lines on the Oreos to make them look like a mummy being sure not to cover the eyes.
That’s it! Just let your mummy chocolate covered Oreos sit until they harden up, for about an hour. You can remove any excess chocolate from them.
You can store these in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
I hope you guys enjoyed this tutorial for Mummy Chocolate Covered Oreos and are inspired to make some sweet treats too!
